As a Connecticut native, Dr. Veronica Yu is excited to be returning to her home state after practicing dentistry in Central Florida for several years. With her time studying and providing essential care, she’s more than excited about delivering comfortable, personalized, and high-quality dental treatments that patients can trust. Until you visit our office, read on to learn a little more about her background and education.
Dr. Yu’s path to dentistry was unconventional. After graduating from Brown University with a degree in History, she worked at a securities and anti-trust litigation law firm in Manhattan with the intent of applying to law school. However, the field of law was unfulfilling, and at the suggestion of her father, a gastroenterologist, she started exploring the dental field because it combined her latent interest in science, art, and patient care.
After graduating with honors from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, Dr. Yu completed a general practice residency at North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital. She appreciates getting to know each of her patients and improving their oral healthcare. She also enjoys educating her patients on the links between oral health and one’s overall health; in fact, she was able to apply her passion for education by teaching at the hygiene school at Eastern Florida State College.
In her spare time, Dr. Yu enjoys playing and watching tennis. She also loves music whether through singing or through playing the violin and the guitar. Lately, she devotes most of her time to her pride and joy, her one-year-old daughter, Evelyn. Dr. Yu and her husband are looking forward to raising their family in Connecticut, and she is excited to meet you and your family.
