We believe that the way to optimize our patients’ oral health and achieve the best treatment results is to consider every detail of a treatment and diagnosis. That’s why we use accurate, fast, and comfortable dental technology, like our intraoral cameras, soft tissue dental lasers, and a variety of other gadgets during each of your appointments. To learn more about these instruments and how they’re used, read below.
Our intraoral camera is a small, handheld device that can capture video footage and still images of small, hard-to-reach areas of your mouth that are showing possible signs of developing problems. The camera is connected to a large, chairside monitor that you’ll be able to see as well, so we can show you exactly what we’re looking at in real-time and better explain how our recommended treatment plan will help address the issue.
In the past, dentists would capture film X-rays to see the area of your mouth that lies below your gumline. Unfortunately, this method required patients to wear uncomfortable lead aprons and to have to wait awhile for their X-rays to be developed. Today, we utilize more efficient and safer digital technology that exposes patients to up to 90 percent less radiation and is a significantly faster process. Plus, we’re able to easily store and send your X-rays to a specialist if necessary!
Our soft tissue dental laser is a neat gadget that allows us to treat gum disease, conduct crown lengthening treatments, and gently and painlessly remove overgrown oral tissue without the use of a scalpel or sutures. It produces a small, concentrated beam of light that immediately cauterizes an area on-contact, reducing the risk of infection, minimizing bleeding, and making the entire process virtually pain-free and more comfortable.
As a part of our commitment to the most efficient, effective, and amazing dental services, our office features CEREC one-visit dentistry. In the past, restorations like dental crowns or bridges required multiple appointments with weeks of waiting. However, CEREC technology allows us to create and place restorations all in one visit for your ultimate convenience. This is made possible with the use of hi-tech cameras that take digital impressions of your smile. Then, we utilize computer-aided design and manufacturing technology to create a digital mold of your restoration – no messy putty! Once the design is complete, it’s sent to our in-office milling machine, and then it’s ready for placement.
